AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, CALIFORNIA
PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION BY REFERENCE OF THE
"UNIFORM FIRE CODE, REVISED 1967 EDITION' AS THE
UNIFORM FIRE CODE OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT AND
PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. (A) ADOPTION OF FIRE CODE. The Uniform Fire Code, revised 1967
edition, is adopted as the Fire Code of the City of Beaumont, providing regulations,
consistent with nationally recognized standard practice, safeguarding life, health,
property and public welfare to a reasonable degree from the hazards of fire and
explosion arising from the storage, use and handling of dangerous and hazardous
materials, substances and devices, the operation, installation, construction,
locations, safeguarding and maintenance of adequate means of egress not pro-
vided by the Uniform Building Code.
Each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions, and
terms of the Uniform Fire Code, Revised 1967 Edition, are hereby referred to,
adopted and made a part hereof, as though fully set forth herein.
(B) COPIES TO BE ON FILE. Three copies of the Fire Code adopted by the
preceding section shall be kept permanently on file in the office of the City
Clerk.
(C) PENALTIES. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the
provisions of the Code so adopted in Section 1(A) hereof, shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof, shall be punishable by a fine of not more
than $500.00 or by imprisonment in the County Jail for a period of not more than
six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Ordinance
and shall cause the same to be published in the Record -Gazette, a newspaper of
general circulation, in the City of Beaumont, and this ordinance shall be in full
force and effect thirty days after its adoption.

of the City Council of said city duly held on the 23rd day of April , 1968,
and that the same was duly passed and adopted at a Regular Meeting held on the
14th day of May , 1968, by the following vote:
AYES: Councilman Haskell, Rodeman, Kief, Hightower and Karnes.
NOES: None.
