AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, CALIFORNIA
AMENDING ARTICLE V., SECTION 3., PARAGRAPH (c) OF
ORDINANCE NO. 324, PERTAINING TO UNDERGROUND
UTILITIES IN THE SUBDIVISION OF LAND IN THE CITY
OF BEAUMONT.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That paragraph (c), Section 3., Article V -
REQUIRED IMPROVEMENTS of said Ordinance No. 324 of the City of
Beaumont is hereby amended to readas follows:
ARTICLE V - REQUIRED IMPROVEMENTS
Section 3. Utilities.
(c) GAS, ELECTRIC POWER AND TELEPHONE. Utility
lines, including but not limited to electric
communications, street lighting and cable tele-
vision shall be required to be placed underground.
The subdivider is responsible for complying with
the requirements of this Section, and he shall make
the necessary arrangements with the utility companies
for the installation of such facilities. For the
purpose of this Section, surface mounted transformers,
pedestal mounted terminal boxes and meter cabinets,
concealed ducts, street lighting systems and other
associated equipment in an underground system may
be placed above ground. The Planning Commission
may recommend to the City Council that the require-
ments of this Section be waived if topographical,
soil or other conditions make such underground
installations unreasonable or impractical.
This Section shall not apply to utility lines which
do not provide service to the area being subdivided.
Section 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
;:his ordinance and shall cause the same to be published once in the
Record -Gazette, a newspaper of general circulation, printed and
published in the City of Beaumont and surrounding areas and thirty
(30) days after its adoption, this ordinance shall be in full force
and effect.

NOES: None.
