AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LEAUTIONT, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING
THE ANNExATIc.i OF CERTAIN UNINIMITED
TERRITORY, DESIGNATED "ANNEXATION NO. 15".
WirtEREAS oil the 22ne dTv of April, 1959 the City Council
adopted its Resolution No. 1969-38 giving notice of the 1-JropOsal
to anmax cetain u-Anhabted territolcy pursuant to the Annexation
of Uninhabited. Territol:y Act of 1939 designated as "Annexation
No. 15, and
WHEREAS, said resolution contained a notice of the day, hour
and place when and where the Council of the City would hear any
protests made by any person owning real property within the
territory to be annexed; and
WHEREAS, on the 27th day of May, 1969, at the hour of 7:30
P.M., in the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City of
Beaumont, County of Riverside, State of California, said time and
place being tie clay, hour and place fixed in said resolution for
hearing protests to the said anneeation, the said City Council did
hear and pass upon all protests made to the proposed annexation
and did determine that protests had not been made by the owners of
one-half of the value of the privately owned territory proposed to
be annexed as shoea by the last equalized assessment roll, nor by
public owners of one-helf of the value of the publicly owned
territory proposed to be annexae as determined by said legislative
body, and
WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of Beaumont,
and in uninhabited territory in the County of Riverside;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Beaumont DOES
ORDAIN as follows:
Secti:)n 1. Thi e City Council does Hereby approve and order
the Ennextion of the territory hereinafter described to the City
of Beaueont.
Section 2. Si Territory is more particularly described as
follows:
Being those portions of Sections 4, 5, 8 and 9, Township 3
South, Range 1 747et, San Bernardino Base & Meridian, in the
County of Riveride, State of California, described as follows:
BEGINNING at the intersection of the Norehwesterly boundary
of the Beumont City Limits, on a line parallel to Viele
Avenue and 410 feet, more or les, Northwesterly of the center-
line of oaid Viele Avenue, as the same now exists, and the
Northweoterly 17ight of my line of the Southern Pacific
Railroad,•,1.:aid intersection lying in the Northeast 1/4 of

westerly along onid Sout eeeific Railroad right of way
to its intersection wih the '.o7.th right of way line of

Northwest 1/4 of said Section 9; thence Westerly along the
Southerly right of way line of said Highway 60 to its inter-.

line of Section 8 and 5, Township 3 South, Range 1 West, to
the West 1/4 cox-rter of Ilaid Section 5; thence Easterly along

right of way of interstate ilighway 10, said intersection
lying on the North line of the Southwest 1/4 of said
Section 4; thence Southeasterly along said Northeasterly
right of way line of Interstate Highway 10 to its inter-
section with the Northwesterly boundary of the Beaumont City
Limits as the same now exists, said intersection lying in
the Northeast 1/4 of Section 9, Township 3 South, Range 1
lest; thence Soutkwesterly along sal.d Beaumont City Limits
line to the point of beginning.
Said parcel contains 431.20 acres, more or les.
Section 3, The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published in the Daily
Record -Gazette, a newspaper of general circulation, in the City of
Beaumont, and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty
days after its adoption.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 24th day of June, 1969.
