AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT CALLING.
A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BEHELD ON THE EIGHTEENTH
DAY OF NOVEMBER, 1969, PERTAINING TO THE
ANNEXATION OF "ANNEXATION NO. 16", TO THE CITE.'
OF BEAUMONT.
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 1969-63, the CityCouncil of the
City of Beaumont declared its intention to call a:special election
to be held on the 18th, day of November, 1969, in certain inhabited
territory contiguous to said City proposed to be annexed to the
city, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors resid-
ing in said territory the questions whether or riot: the territory
shall be annexed: to the city; and
WHEREAS, a copy of said resolution was published as required
by law; and
WHEREAS, at a time not later than the hour set by said
resolution for hearing objections to the proposed election, written
or oral protests were not made by the owners of a Majority, of
separate parcels of property within the territoryproposed to be
annexed; and
WHEREAS, all proceedings have been in accordancewith said,
resolution and the Annexation Act of 1913, reference thereto here-
by being made for further particulars;
NOW, THEREFORE, the. City Council of the City of Beaumont
ordain as follows:
1, A special election is hereby called to;, be held -on,
18th day of 'November, 1969, in ''the `territory hereinafter
:described and proposed to. -be annexed to the,`City of.
Beaumont, for°the purpose of'submitting to the.'qualified
electors residing in said territory the questions
whether or not such territory shall be annexed `to, in-
corporated in, and made a:. part of said'City of Beaumont.

Meridian, as shown on the map recorded in Book. 9 of 'Maps,
page 10, records of San Bernardino County, in the County

square after the printed word ''"yES", the vote of
such elector shall be counted in ,favor of -the,
annexation of said territory to the City of'Beadmont,

voting , square after the printed word "NO" the vote
of such -elector shall' be .coiinted against such
annexation.

The City Clerk shall publish a notice of said special-
election as required by the Annexation Act of 1913 at
least once a week fOr the four (4) weeks .prior to the:,
date of the election on November 18, 1969, in -t,. accord
Gazette, a newspaper of general circulation in ,the City'..
of Beaumont, and in the IDaily Enterprise. a ne spaper of
general circulation, printed. and published in :the County
of Riverside, California
6.; This Ordinance is hereby declared to ,be an utgency
ordinance,, to become effective immediately since it
relating to a special election' and time, will not Permit
its adoption as a regular ordinance.
7. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of -this
urgency' ordinance, and shall causethe same to be
published once in the Daily Record -Gazette, a newspaper
of general circulation in the City of Beaumont,, and it
shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its
adoption.
