AN ORDINANCE OF TEE CITY OF :!-EATIMONT,
CALIFORNIA, REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 177
07 THE CITY OP BEAUMONT, TO PROVIDE FOR
THE ADOPTION BY REFERENCE OF THE "INTER-
NATIONAL CONFERENCE OF BUILDING OFFICIALS
UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, 1970 EDITION" AS
THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE OF THE CITY OF
BEAUMONT AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE
VIOLUION THEREOF.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF TF1 CITY OF BEAUMONT, CALIFORNIA, DOES
HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1, Ordinance No. 377 of the City of Beaumont, and all
other Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith areheor
by repealed.
SECTION 2 (A) ADOPTION OF BUILDING CODE. The International
Conference of Building Officials Uniform Building Code, 1970 Edition
is adopted as the Building Cod of the City of Beaumont, providing
for the regulating, eTection, construction, enlargement, alteration,
repair, moving, removal, conversion, demolition, occupancy, equipment,
use, height, arca and maintenance of buildings and/or structures in
the City of Beaumont and providing for issuance of permits and collec-
tion of feas.therefor and inspection of the same.
Each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, con-
ditions, and terms of such International Conference of Building Officials
Uniform Building Code, 1970 Edition, are hereby referred to, adopted
and made a part hereof, as though fully set forth herein.
(B) COPIES TO BE ON FILE. Three copies of the Building Code
adopted by the preceding section shall be kept permanently on file in
the office of the City Clerk.
(C) PENALTIES. Any person, firm or coxporation violating any
of the provisions of the Code so adoptd in Section 2 (A) hereof,
shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof, shall be
punishable by a fine of not more then $500.00 or by imprisonment in
the County Jail for a period of not more than six months, or by both
such fine and imprisonment.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of chis
Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published in the Record -
Gazette, a newspaper of general circulation, in the City of Beaumont,
and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty (30) days
after its adoption.

hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 419 was introduced
and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Beaumont, duly held on the 28th day of September, 1970, and that
the same was duly passed and adopted at a regular meeting of said
City Council duly held on the 13th day of October, 1970, by the
following vote:
AYES: Councilman Rodeman, Mason, Valdivia, Hightower and Haskell.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
