A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING
THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU) BETWEEN THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD AND THE LYNWOOD EMPLOYEES' MANAGEMENT GROUP ("LEMG")
FOR FISCAL YEARS 2021 — 2023
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood ("City") has fulfilled its meet and confer
obligations as required by the Meyers-Milias-Brown Act; and
WHEREAS, the negotiations have resulted in an agreement with the City of
Lynwood and The Lynwood Employees' Management Group ("LEMG") attached in
Exhibit A; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to adopt the agreements as
proposed; and
WHEREAS, funds have been allocated from the American Rescue Plan Act of
2021 (ARPA) and the City's general fund and will be appropriated in each of the fiscal
year budgets for the duration of the agreements.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby approve
the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) which shall be executed by designated
representatives from the City of Lynwood and the LEMG upon adoption of this resolution
by the City Council.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager, Director of Human Resources and City
Attorney are directed to execute and implement the MOU in accordance with the
provisions of this resolution.
SECTION 3. That this Resolution and MOU referenced herein supersede any
provisions of previously adopted City policies that conflict with the provisions of this MOU.
SECTION 4. That the City Council will be presented with a subsequent Resolution
following the approval of this Resolution to update the City's "Salary Schedule" to reflect
the salary and compensation changes agreed upon in the attached agreement in Exhibit
A.
