HomeMy Public PortalAboutOrdinance 44010 11 ORDINANCE NO. 440 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT AMENDING SECTION 7-i OF ORDINANCE NO. 333 TO MAKE PRO'ISION FOR BASING THE LICENSE FEE FOR THE OPERATION OF COIN-OPERATEDr VENDING MACHINE$ DISPENSING TANGIBLE PERSONAL' PROPERTY, UPON -THE LICENSEE'S ENTIRE GROSS RECEIPTS ATTRIBUTABLE' TO SUCH BUSINESS ACTIVITIES AND REPEALINGALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS THEREOF IN CONFLICT HEREWITH. The. City .Council of the City of Beaumont does herebyordain as follows Section 1. Section 7-i of Ordinance No. 333 is hereby amended by addin thereto subsections 7-i (a) , (b) , (c) , " (d) , and (e), as follows: 7-1 (a) Every individual or firm engaged exclusively in 12 the business of renting, leasing or operating coin-operated vending 13 machines dispensing tangible personal property within the city shat 14 pay a license tax based upon gross receipts in accordance with the I5 following schedule: 16 Gross Receipts Per Year 17 $0 to 2,499.99 $ 15.00 18 2,500.00 to 4.,999.99 25.00.,:. 19 5, 000.00 to 7 , 499.99 30..00 20 7,500.00 to 9,999.99 40.00 21 10,000.00 to 14,999.99 '60.00" 22 15 000.00 to 19,999..99 80.00 23 20,000,00 and up 100.00; 24 For the purpose of this section the license tax shall be based on the entire gross receipts which are directly attribu- table to the business activities conducted ithin the. city. 7-i (b) " "Gross'''pts" shall mean and include the total 28 amount of the sale price of all sales and the tot,al amount,chArged 29 or received for tangiblefpersonal property including but not in lim tats on of the foregoing, all goods, wares and/or merchandise. 31 vended without deduction thereftom any sum or .. s' 32 any reason at all. A moment of silent prayer was held for the Invocation. After the pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, the roll call found the following Councilmen present: Councilman Haskell, Valdivia, Ochoa and Yoder. Conley City Clerk Albert Haskell Mayor ORDINANCE NO. 444 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 168 BY ADDING CERTAIN PROVISIONS THERETO AND REPEALING ANY OTHER ORDINANCES OR PORTIONS THEREOF IN CONFLICT THEREWITH. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I: Ordinance No. 168 as respecting the Planning Commission of the City of Beaumont is hereby amended by adding thereto the following. a. Term of membership to the commission will be four years: b. Members shall reside within the corporate City limits of the City of Beaumont. c. If a current member of the commission moves outside of the corporate boundaries of the City of Beaumont, said member may complete the remaining portion of the four year term if the action is approved by the majority vote of the Plann- ing Commission. d. The chairman of the Planning Commission shall submit to the City Council a list of candidates, approved by the Commission, within 30 days after a vacancy occures.
