Wayne Neddermeyer - Mayor in Chair Priscilla Arens - Clerk All members present The problem to be taken up was the inclusion of the Holasak property in the sewer district. Mr. Smith of P. C. A. and Lonnie Dye of the Metropolitan Sewer Board discussed the problems and the Metropolitan Board would take over the problem. Mr. Nolan of the Corporate Land and Resource Development then presented his development for the farm - a mobile home project. Moved by Arthur Theis that the proposale of the Corporate and Resource Development be denied. Seconded by Donald Des Lauriers Mot_on carried. Moved by Thomas Stevehh that the meeting adjourn. Moved by Donald Des Lauriers that the minutes be approved as read. Seconded by Arthur Theis Motion carried. The minutes of the special meeting of February 18, 1971 read. Moved by Arthur Theis that the minutes be approved as read. Seconded by Robert Franklin Motion carried. The minutes of the Planning Commission meeting of January 15, 1971 read. Moved by Robert Franklin to/appointArnold Erdman to the Planning Commission for three years. Seconded by Donald Des Terriers Motion carried. Moved by Arthur Theis to re -appoint Ted Lockwood to the Planning Commission for three years. Seconded by Robert Franklin Motion carried. 28 • a Moved by Donald Des Lauriers that the Council approve a donation of $150.00 to the North Shore Community Council for 1971. Seconded by Arthur Theis Motion carried. Moved by Arthur Theis that we grant cigarette license for 1971 to the following: L. Gustafson of Russ Haverberg Co.; George Castongufy of Medina Oil, and Gregory Dubay of Medina Conoco. Seconded by Donald Des Lauriers Motion carried. Discussed salaries for William Moore and Raymond Bosch, part time policemen. Moved by Robert Franklin that we set a price of $3.50 per hour for both part time police officers, retro-active to January 1st. Seconded by Donald Des Lauriers Motion carried. William Carlson of Carlson and Carlson presented the Van Dusen Plat. Moved by Donald Des Lauriers for a resolution to approve the Van Dusen and Compahy,Inc., Addition Plat, upon payment of the platting fee of $150.QO and a 5% park payment computed at $1500.00 per acre for three acres, which would be $225.00. Seconded by Arthur Theis Motion carried. a discussed Fidel Theis's well problem. Chuck Nolan appeared with plans for the Holasak property. Moved by Donald Des Lauriers that we refer Mr. Nolan to the Planning Commission. Seconded by Robert Franklin Motion carried. Moved by Thomas Stevens to pro -rate the sewer charge covering the January and April payment to bill the customers for the July and October charges, since more water is used for sprinkling between April 1st and October 1st and a good share of this water does not go to the sewer. Seconded by Donald Des Lauriers Motion carried. Moved by Thomas Stevens to approve the Minneapolis Gas Company permit Job S --18, 1971. Seconded by Donald Des Lauriers Motion carried. Moved by Arthur Theis for a resolution that the Clerk write to Rep. John Wingard, Rep. John Keefe, co-chairman of Hennepin County House Delegation, Sen. Victor Jude, Sen. Kenneth Wolfe, co-chairman of Hennepin County Senate Delegation, Rep. Gary Flakne, Chairman of Health and Welfare Committee, that we are opposed to House File #54, Section 1, Subdivision 1, and advise the Suburban Hennepin County Relief Board that we %re happy with the job they are doing. Seconded by Robert Franklin Motion carried. Moved by Robert Franklin that we reimburse Charles Hoover the $50.QO for the the course on emergency care. Moved by Donald Des Lauriers to pay the bills as follows: Payroll in the amount of $3,815.00 and order checks in the amount of $5,153.62. Seconded by Thomas Stevens Motion carried. Moved by Robert Franklin to adopt to other Villages: RESOL ,q PTO Re:SF 1108 and SF 1109, %17 t, b Reserve District; and SF 1237 and Park Reserve Board. the fagd:wdaiig resolution and forward THE LEGISLATURE ills affecting the Hennepin County Park BF 1678, bills creating a Metropolitan The Village Council of the Village of Medina hereby declares its opposition to the above bills and to an other legislation that would give the power of eminent domain (condemnation) to either the Hennepin County Park Reserve District or to a Metropolitan Park Reserve Board. In addition, the Council supports the present provisions of Minnesota Statutes 398.09 which require municipal consent for the acquisition of any land for county park purposes within a city or village, and the Council opposes any bill to repeat that provision and requests that similar provisions be applied to any metropolitan park plan.
