APPROVING MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT-BETWEEN THE
BOROUGH OF CARTERET AND THE CARTERET PBA LOCAL g47
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret (the "Borough") and The Carterct
Policemen's Benevolent Association, Local No. 47 (thc "PBA") are parties to a
Collective Bargaining Agreement which is due to expire on December 31, 2002;
and
WHEREAS, the parties have conducted negotiations for a successor agreement;
and
WHEREAS, the parties have reached a tentative agreement with regard to said
successor agreement and wish to memorialize the same.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey, as follows:
1. That the attached Memorandum of Agreement between the
Borough of C~eret and the Carteret Policemen's Benevolent
Association, Local No. 47, setting forth amendments, additions,
and modifications for a new Collective Bargaining Agreement
beginning on January 1, 2003 and ending on December 31, 2006,
is hereby approved.
2. That upon ratification by the PBA, the Mayor is hereby
authorized to execute the attached Memorandum of Agreement in
a form acceptable to the Borough Attorney.
3. That the Borough Attorney is hereby authorized to incmporate
the terms of the attached Memorandum of Agreement into a new
four (4) year collective bargaining agreement between the Borough
and the PBA to begin on January 1, 2003 and expiring on
December 31, 2006.
4. That a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the Borough's
Finance Department, the Borough Attorney, and the PBA.
Adopted this 18th day of November, 2002
and certified as a true Copy of the
original on November 19, 2002.
