Animal Shelter Advisory Committee Meeting

The Animal Shelter Committee met for a regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at
12:30 p.m. in the Training Room, Jefferson City Animal Shelter, 2308 Hyde Park Road, Jefferson City
Missouri. The meeting was called to order by Dr. Popp, Chairman. Roll call was taken.
Approval of Minutes
Dr. Boyer moved to approve the minutes from December 17, 2013 and Dr. Crago seconded.
Staff Reports
Staff reported about the Puppies for Parole program and possible changes. Dr. Mar Doering is helping
volunteers by providing a pilot program on walking animals at the shelter. She gave a presentation to
the staff on how to handle animals in the kennel in February.
Review Written Correspondence
No correspondence was received.
Old Business
Exotic animal ordinance was discussed. It was moved and approved to pass the ordinance on to public
safety.
New Business
It was moved and approved to forward the Ordinance of Maximum number of Animals was passed onto
Public Safety with Dr. Crago voting to abstain. It was discussed that Animal Control is not accepting
trapped wildlife.
Adjournment
With no further business the meeting adjourned at 1:22 p.m. Next meeting is June 17, 2014 at the
Animal Shelter.
