Animal Shelter Advisory Committee Meeting
Tuesday, December 17, 2013
Members Present:
Dr. Gregory Popp, Chairman
Dr. Jim Crago, Vice Chair
Dr. Greg Boyer, Committee Member
Karen Jennings, Staff
Dr. Corey McCann, Staff Veterinarian
Lt. Randy Dampf, Interim Support Services Commander
The Animal Shelter Committee met for a regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at
12:30 p.m. in the Training Room, Jefferson City Animal Shelter, 2308 Hyde Park Road, Jefferson City
Missouri. The meeting was called to order by Dr. Popp, Chairman. Roll call was taken.
Approval of Minutes
Dr. Boyer moved to approve the minutes from September 17, 2013 and Dr. Crago seconded.
Staff Reports
Dr. McCann talked about the veterinary students he has mentored through the University of Missouri.
The program has been a success. We had purchased some of the equipment that was advised such as a
squeeze trap and gloves.
Review Written Correspondence
No correspondence was received.
Old Business
Exotic animal ordinance was discussed. We will be looking for the definition of exotic through legal at
the next meeting.
New Business
Dr. Crago will be making a presentation to the Council or a Council Committee in the next few months.
Adjournment
With no further business the meeting adjourned at 1:00 p.m. Next meeting is March 18, 2014 at the
Animal Shelter.
