Members present: Dawnel Davidson, Laura Morris, Lucia Kincheloe, Tom Baker, Cindy Layton, Bruce Dawson, Don Govang, Taryn Prewitt, Carrie Carroll, Cary Gampher, Kelly Schlosser, Gail Stope Under New Business: -Dawnel reported partnering with LU for the possibility of an intern. -Gail and Drew reported on non-profit status. The articles of Corporation and By Laws looked good. Drew how many were appointed to be members of the Foundation with a 2 year term. We need to solicit 15 members for the foundation or combine members and Directors. Next step is to file for corporation status after Drew adds info and is approved. -Dawnel updated on Sept. 7th Wine Event at Cork. Laura and Kelly need to contact wineries and pair restaurants with wine. Laura to call St. James and Summit Lake and Kelly the rest. -Laura and Lucia updated on CRMC fundraiser-The Fantastiks. Cast is up and running. Food secured. Advertising handled by CRMC. Possibility of adding an additional night on the 27th. Tom Baker has set 9/17 to paint and clean stage and set as a team. Tom will secure free paint. -Marketing: Ben Layton updated on using Facebook or Twitter. Asked who will be Media Director. Dawnel suggested creating an email account. Assign the intern and 1 committee member-Tom Baker agreed to do it with Lucia’s input. -Lucia reported 6 more downtown flags getting done. Gail said Fire Dept. said waiting to put up flags Sept 6. -Bruce gave an update on Public Art. No news form NEA grant ($10,000). Roundabout project-4 sculptors were consulted. Preparing RFQ. Linn and Nichols were consulted about working with students for sculptures. -Lucia overviewed an art school bus project entailing having a bench waiting area at student bus stops. -Future city arts commission budget may be cut to $6,250 city total. Lucia suggested possible recognition night for arts next year to make up the difference. Meeting was adjourned at 5:40
