A RESOLUTION OF THE LYNWOOD CITY COUNCIL APPROVING AN
AGREEMENT WITH THE LOS ANGELES DODGERS FOUNDATION
FOR THE 2022 DODGERS DREAMTEAM LYNWOOD YOUTH
BASEBALL & SOFTBALL PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Recreation & Community Services Department applied for and
was successfully awarded a grant of$39,690 from the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Los
Angeles Dodgers Foundation to support the 2022 Lynwood Youth Baseball & Softball
Dodgers Dreamteam (formerly "Dodgers RBI") season; and
WHEREAS, grant management practices require the City to certify, by resolution,
acceptance ofthe grant, acceptance of responsibility to perform grant and partnership
requirements and authorization for execution of related documents and activities; and
WHEREAS, the grant will be used in strict accordance with requirements
established by the agreement and the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood finds and declares that the
foregoing recitals are true and correct, and incorporates said recitals fully into this
Resolution as substantive findings.
Section 2. Approves acceptance of the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation grant
and Agreement to support the 2022 Dodgers Dreamteam — Lynwood Youth
Baseball & Softball season.
Section 3. The City Manager and/or his designee is authorized to execute any
documents and activities related to the Agreement and program including, but not
limited to contracts and grant payments to contractors which may be necessary for
the completion of the aforementioned program and to allocate necessary staff time
to manage the program.
Section 4. The Finance Department is authorized and directed to establish an
appropriate account to receive grant funds and expend the grant funds from
account#1011.60.705.64399 for this program.
Section 5. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS 15th day of February 2022.
