A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL AND THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AMENDING ITS CLASSIFICATION PLAN AND SALARY SCHEDULE TO
INCLUDE THE SENIOR BUILDING INSPECTOR/ASSISTANT BUILDING
OFFICIAL CLASSIFICATION
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood is a General Law City under California law and is
governed by and elected City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood has adopted an Employee
Classification and Position Plan and on occasion amends the plan as needed; and
WHEREAS, Rule IV — "Classification", Section 2 - "Adoption of Plan", of the City
of Lynwood's Personnel Rules and Regulations states that the City's classification plan
"shall be amended or revised as occasion required in the same manner as originally
established" by way of approval "in whole or in part by the City Council"; and
WHEREAS, Rule IV — "Classification", Section 5 - "Amending the Classification
Plan", of the City of Lynwood's Personnel Rules and Regulations states that "the City
Council may create new classes, and revise or abolish existing classes; and
WHEREAS, the City and its designated Personnel Officer fulfilled its meet and
confer obligations with AFSCME, LEA union representatives and agreed to a new job
classification specification for the City's Senior Building Inspector/Assistant Building
Official job description; and
WHEREAS, the City's Personnel Board approved the Senior Building
Inspector/Assistant Building Official job classification specification on February 3, 2022;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood has adopted a salary
resolution with salary schedules for Management and General employees and requires
an amendment to be made to include the Senior Building Inspector/Assistant Building
Official classification (salary band G-61).
NOW, THEREFORE, THE LYNWOOD CITY COUNCIL DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby finds and declares
that the foregoing recitals are true and correct, and incorporates them herein as findings
and as a substantive part of this Resolution
Section 2. Amend the City Employees' Classification Plan to incorporate the
"Senior Building Inspector/Assistant Building Official"job description (Exhibit A) as part of
the City's classification plan.

Section 3. Amend the City's Salary Schedule (Exhibit B) to include the "Senior
Building Inspector/Assistant Building Official" position with proposed salary range.
Section 4. Authorize the Mayor to execute the Resolution for and on behalf of
the City of Lynwood.
Section 5. This Resolution shall take full force and effect immediately upon
adoption by the City Council.
