Ad Hoc Committee on the Arts
Monday, May 19, 2008 ~ 12:00 P.M.
City Hall, 320 E. McCarty Street – Boone/Bancroft Room
Present were: Bushmann, Hall, Littlefield, Picker, Lockwood, McMillan,
Strope, Carroll, Layton and Smith.
Issues decided:
1. Chairman, Layton. Vice Chair Carroll. Sec. Bushmann
2. The committee will meet the second and third Thursdays of each
month until November.
3. The mission statement of the committee is "The Ad Hoc Committee
on the Arts will identify the needs of art and culture in the community
through research and outreach and will make recommendations for
goals and direction."
4. Several members will contact the following cities to see how they
provide art and cultural activities: Littlefield--Cape Girardeau; Smith--
Joplin; Hall--Sedalia and Booneville; Picker--St. Joseph; Layton--
Columbia; Carroll-- Springfield, Ill.
