HomeMy Public PortalAbout2022.037 (03-01-22) RESOLUTION NO. 2022.037 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AWARDING A CONTRACT TO INTERNATIONAL LINE BUILDERS, INC., IN THE AMOUNT OF $295,350.00 FOR THE HSIP CYCLE 5 - MARTIN LUTHER KING JUNIOR BOULEVARD FROM ALVADA STREET TO BENWELL DRIVE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT, PROJECT NO. 4011.68.035; AUTHORIZING AN APPROPRIATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $65,886 FROM SB1 (FUND 2121) FOR THE PROJECT AND REDUCING THE PROJEC BUDGET OF TRAFFIC SAFETY PROJECT (CIP .NO. 4011.68.107) TO MAKE THE APPROPRIATION WHEREAS, The State of California Department of Transportation awarded the City $292,100 in federal funds; and WHEREAS, on June 21, 2021, the City received the Authorization to Proceed (E- 76) with the construction on the project from Caltrans; and WHEREAS, the HSIP Cycle 5 - Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard from Alvada Street to Benwell Drive Improvement Project consists of removal and replacement of crosswalks, pedestrian signals, and signs; and WHEREAS, on October 28, 2021, the Notice Inviting Bids for the project was advertised in the Daily Journal, Bid America, and on the City's web site (PlanetBids); and WHEREAS, the bid opening took place in the PlanetBids Platform on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 10:00 A.M (Pacific Time); and WHEREAS, staff received three (3) bid proposals; and WHEREAS, International Line Builders, Inc. is the lowest responsible bidder; and WHEREAS, to move forward with this Project, appropriation is needed. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby finds and declares that the foregoing recitals are true and correct, and incorporates them herein as findings and as a substantive part of this Resolution. 1 Section 2. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the agreement between the City of Lynwood and International Line Builders, Inc. for the HSIP Cycle 5 — Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard from Alvada Street to Benwell Drive Improvement Project, Project No. 4011.68.035 in the amount of $295,350 in a form approved by the City Attorney. Section 3. That the City Council authorize the City Manager to approve in writing any modification involving an addition to, deletion from, or revision in any item in such contract, including, without limitation, plans, specifications and extra work, and change orders relating to the nature or quantity of services, equipment, supplies or work and that the City Council authorize the City Manager to exceed the specific dollar amounts or percentage limitations under LMC 6-3.15(a) for these changes. Section 5. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. Section 6. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this City Council Resolution.
