GREENCASTLE BOARD OF WORKS
SPECIAL SESSION
MONDAY, DECEMBER 30, 1996 3:30 P.M. CITY HALL
The Greencastle Board of Works met in Special Session Monday, December 30, 1996 at 3:30
p.m. at City Hall. Mayor Michael called the meeting to order. On the Roll Call, the following
board members were found to be present: Sue Murray and George Murphey.
The purpose of this meeting is to select two candidates for the position of firefighter for the City
of Greencastle.
George Murphey made the motion to accept Jeff Elkins as a firefighter for the City of
18 Greencastle pending approval by PERF. This motion was seconded by Sue Murray. Vote was
unanimous.
Sue Murray made the motion to accept Mike Johnson as a firefighter for the City of Greencastle
pending PERF approval. This motion was seconded by George Murphey. Vote was unanimous,
Mayor Michael told the board that there have been five applicants for the position of Assistant
Fire Chief. The Mavor made the recommendation that the Assistant Chief should work a
regular shift with the men instead of 3:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m,
Executive sessions for interviews for Police Chief were set for Thursday, January 2, 1997 at 2:00
p.m. and Friday, January 3, 1997 at 10:30 a.m.
Motion to adjourn was made by Sue Murray, seconded by George Murphey. Vote was
unanimous.
