HomeMy Public PortalAbout20130507minutesMINUTES Board of Electrical Examiners and Review Jefferson City, Missouri May 7, 2013 MEMBERS PRESENT: Chris Bruemmer David Steinman Ray Fink Sam Thomas Richard Green Jim Gooch STAFF: Dan Davis Bill Stockton Janice McMillan The Electrical Board of Examiners and Review met at 5:00 p.m., May 7, 2013, in the Small Conference Room of the John G. Christy Municipal Building. The meeting was called to order by Bill Stockton. Approval of Minutes The minutes of the March 6, 2013 meeting were approved as presented. Review Applications for Francis Scott Metcalf and Steve Meyer for Journeyman Exam An application for Journeyman exam for Francis Scott Metcalf was reviewed and a motion to approve was made by Dave Steinman and seconded by Chris Bruemmer. The motion carried on a voice vote. Steve Meyer withdrew his application for a Master exam and submitted an application for a Journeyman exam. A motion was made to approve the application by Dave Steinman and seconded by Sam Thomas. The motion carried on a voice vote. Review Application for Brad Heckman for Journeyman License Brad Heckman's application for a Journeyman license was reviewed and a motion to approve was made by Richard Green and seconded by David Steinman. The motion carried on a voice vote. Review Application for Chris Morrey for Master Exam An application for a Master exam for Chris Morrey was reviewed and a motion to approve was made by Jim Gooch and seconded by Chris Bruemmer. The motion carried on a voice vote. Old Business a. Review the tabled proposal by Jim Gooch that the Board consider recommending changing the Apprentice to Journeyman ratio. Jim Gooch's recommendation to change the Apprentice to Journeyman ratio from one to one to two to one was brought up for consideration. After discussing the issue Richard Green made a motion to recommend to the City Council that the ratio be changed to two Apprentices to each Journeyman on the job. The motion was seconded by Sam Thomas and carried on a voice vote. Minutes of the Board of Electrical Examiners and Review May 7, 2013 pg. 2 New Business a. Presentation of Proposal by Columbia Electrical Board for Joint Meeting to Discuss Reciprocation of License between Columbia and Jefferson City. After discussing the request the Board members came to the consensus that they did not want to consider reciprocation at this time. b. An application for Journeyman exam for Leon Frayer Jr. was presented. A motion to deny the application due to lack of Apprentice hours was made by Richard Green and seconded by Jim Gooch. The motion carried on a voice vote. Set Date for Next Scheduled Meeting The date for the next meeting was set for July 10, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. Adjournment With no further business the meeting was adjourned.
