1. Call to Order and Introduction of Members, Council Liaison and Staff
The Chairman and four regular members were present. The meeting was called to order at 6:35
p.m., and it was determined a quorum was present.
2. Adoption of Agenda
Ms. Barkhaus moved to adopt the agenda as written and Ms. Nelson second.
3. Approval of Minutes from the Regular Meeting of December 15, 2011
Mr. Winkelmann moved to adopt the minutes from December 15, 2011 as written Ms. Nelson
second.
4. Guest Presentation: Barbara Buffalo, Manager, City of Columbia Office of Sustainability
Barbara Buffalo presented to the EQC on what k ind of sustainability initiatives the City of
Columbia is working on and has put in place.
5. Recycling Update
Lauren Hershey presented the Diversion Rate Report for 2011.
6. Other Business
Discussion of the EQC Ordinance. Councilman Bray suggested forwarding Ms. Davit’s suggested
revisions to City Staff for insertion into the ordinance then reviewed at the next EQC meeting.
Pam made a motion to forward the revision to City Staff and Mr. Winkelmann second.
Ms. Davit suggested adding the EQC’s role in recycling education outreach and reviewing
ordinance revisions as agenda items for the next meeting.
7. Adjourn.
Ms. Barkhaus made a motion to adjourn and Ms. Nelson second. The meeting adjourned at 8:30
p.m.
