1. Call to Order and Introduction of Members, Council Liaison and Staff
The Chairman and 4 regular members were present. The meeting was called to order at 6:35
p.m., and it was determined a quorum was present.
2. Adoption of Agenda
Mr. Higgins moved to adopt the agenda as written and Mr. Bates second.
3. Approval of Minutes from the Regular Meeting of June 21, 2012
Mr. Winkelman moved to adopt the minutes from June 21, 2012 as written Ms. Nelson second.
4. Recycling Update
Ms. Hershey showed the Commission how social media is used to promote recycling efforts in
Jefferson City.
5. Environmental Outreach
The Commission discussed ways to provide education to the community and support recycling
programs and other environmental activities. Discussed public places phamplets could be
displayed.
6. Livable Streets Advisory Board Duties
Mrs. McMillan discussed the Safe Route to School application. The Committee marked areas for
possible future sidewalks.
Other Business
None.
8. Adjourn.
Mr. Winkelman made a motion to adjourn and Ms. Nelson second. The meeting adjourned at
8:15 p.m.
