1. Call to Order and Introduction of Members and Staff
The Chairman and four (4) regular members were present. The meeting was called to order at
6:40 p.m., and a quorum was present.
2. Adoption of Agenda
Ms. Barkhaus moved to adopt the agenda as written and Mr. Higgins seconded.
3. Approval of Minutes from the Regular Meeting of August 16, 2012
Mr. Higgins moved to adopt the minutes from August 16, 2012 as written Ms. Nelson seconded.
4. Recycling Update
Ms. Hershey showed the Commission how social media is used to promote recycling efforts in
Jefferson City.
5. Environmental Outreach
The Commission discussed ways to provide education to the community and support recycling
programs and other environmental activities. They also discussed public places where pamphlets
could be displayed.
6. Livable Streets Advisory Board Duties
Mrs. McMillan discussed the Safe Route to School application. The Committee marked areas for
possible future sidewalks.
7. Other Business
None.
8. Adjourn.
Mr. Winkelmann made a motion to adjourn and Ms. Nelson seconded. The meeting adjourned at
8:15 p.m.
