CALL TO ORDER
The Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) met Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. in the
Small Conference Room, lower level of the John G. Christy Municipal Building, 320 East McCarty
Street, Jefferson City, Missouri. The meeting was called to order by Cathy Bordner, Chairman.
MINUTES
No minutes were available to review.
REPORTS
a. River City Habitat for Humanity. No report was given.
b. Landmark Photos. Diane Cary is collecting.
c. Sign Ordinance. No update other than it has moved from committee to the City Council.
DEMOLITION APPLICATIONS
After careful review for historical significance, architectural significance/uniqueness, and ability
to rehabilitate, the following properties were approved for demolition:
1110 Dulle St, 929 Dockery, 1330 Missouri Blvd, 929 Waverly St, 631 & 633 Waverly St.
COUNCIL ISSUES
Councilwoman Carrie Carroll announced HPC's new member, Liz Murphy. Carrie also reminded
the commissioners of April 5th ballot issues, including Proposition A.

March 8, 2011
OLD BUSINESS
a. Historic Preservation Forum. The Historic Preservation Forum is scheduled for March 24,
2011, in the Large Conference Room of City Hall, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Cathy
Bordner is to announce this at the March 21, 2011 City Council meeting. Invitations will
be sent to early HPC members. Chairman Bordner reported that RSVP's have been
good. Items to be done for the meeting are a sign -in sheet, agendas, handouts,
volunteer forms, Landmark nomination forms, 3 copies of the Preservation Plan,
question box, and refreshments.
b. Landmark Awards. Four landmark applications have been received: The Landwehr
Home, Busch's Florist, Stacia and Lewis Miller home, and the Western Steam Bottling
Works building. These were reviewed and approved to be forwarded to the City
Council, with Carrie Carroll as the sponsor.
c. Greg Stockard Award. The following names were nominated, presented and discussed:
Michelle Brooks, B. J. DeLong, Dick and Mary Ann Caplinger. Each nominee was
discussed and by unanimous vote the Caplingers were chosen.
d. Set Date for Historic Preservation Month Awards. Ron will follow-up with Dottie
Dallmeyer and the mayor to coordinate schedules. Chairman Bordner will provide
biographical information on the Caplingers.
NEW BUSINESS
The "car"avan tour of Mid -Missouri was presented by Chairman Bordner. A short presentation
of downtown business renovation was given.
CITY ISSUES
There were no city issues.
