Christy Municipal Building, 320 East McCarty Street, Jefferson City, Missouri. The meeting was called to order by Cathy Bordner, Chairman. APPROVAL OF MINUTES The March 13, 2012 minutes were not available. The minutes of the Special Called Meeting for March 26, 2012 were reviewed and a motion to approve with correction was made by Commissioner Ed Meyers and seconded by Commissioner Carlos Graham. Motion passed with a unanimous approval. COUNCIL ISSUES Councilman Ralph Bray discussed annexation west of town and movement of the fire tax to the informal agenda by the sponsor of the bill. Drew Hilbert was introduced as the new City Attorney. New Council members were introduced and the transition will be at the next council meeting. Councilman Bray will remain as the liaison to HPC. The Moreland Avenue sidewalk project was approved pending funding. Elmerine has been chosen as the Historic City of Jefferson home tour. CITY ISSUES Ron Davenport reported that the Walker Apartments and 711 Mulberry have been acquired. Demolition is planned in the near future. Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the City of Jefferson Historic Preservation Commission pg 2 April 10, 2012 DEMOLITION APPLICATIONS a. 2003 St. Marys Blvd: Motion to approve request for demolition was made by Commissioner Bill Case and seconded by Commissioner Mark Schreiber. Motion passed with 1 abstention. b. 413, 415, 417, 421 Lafayette Street and 709, 711 E Miller Street: Motion to approve request for demolition was made by Commissioner Jenny Smith and seconded by Commissioner Carlos Graham. Motion passed with unanimous approval. OLD BUSINESS a. Capitol Avenue Design Guidelines: Extensive discussions were held. Several suggestions were added to the proposed guidelines presented to the Commission. These changes will be reviewed by the city and a final draft will come back to the Commission for final approval. b. Greg Stockard Distinguished Service Award Nominations: A motion for Bob Priddy and Steve Veile both to receive this award was made by Commissioner Bill Case. After discussion it was seconded by Commissioner Mark Schreiber. An amendment was offered but voted down. The final vote for the original motion passed with 1 abstention and 1 nay. NEW BUSINESS Commissioner Ed Meyers will be the lead person for Grant opportunities, especially with regard to the 2013 Preservation Conference. A motion to approve this was made by Commissioner Bill Case and seconded by Jenny Smith. The motion passed with unanimous approval. DATES TO REMEMBER The next meeting will be May 15, 2012.
