CALL TO ORDER
The Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) met Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at 6:30 pm in the
Small Conference Room, lower level of the John G. Christy Municipal Building, 320 East
McCarty Street, Jefferson City, Missouri. The meeting was called to order by Cathy Bordner,
Chair.
APPROVAL OF MINTUES
Commissioners reviewed the minutes from the July 10, 2012 meeting. A motion to approve was
made by Commissioner Jenny Smith and seconded by Commissioner Ed Meyers. Approval
vote was unanimous.
COUNCIL ISSUES
Councilman Ralph Bray was unable to attend, so there was no report.
CITY ISSUES
Ron Davenport gave an update on the Historic Register Nomination stating that they are
awaiting financing approval for hiring of the consultant. Resignation of Melva Fast was
discussed and the 106 Reviews for rehabilitation projects for 320 Cherry St and 3231 Moreau
View Dr were discussed and met with approval. Funds are from Federal Grant monies that are
applied for each year.
DEMOLITION APPLICATIONS
A motion to approve demolition of 1223 Monroe Street was made by Commissioner Bill Case
and seconded by Commissioner Art Hernandez. The following vote took place: (3) Yea (2) Nay
(1) Abstaining. There was discussion about requests for more information regarding the
condition of the properties requesting demolition approval, especially with regards to the interior
condition. A legal opinion will be requested regarding this inquiry.

OLD BUSINESS
a. Correction to the Minutes of March 13, 2012. The minutes incorrectly stated that St.
Martins was the proposed annexation area. The correction should be Meadows by the
Club. Correction was accepted unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS
a. There was discussion regarding the neglected properties ordinance by Commissioner
Jenny Smith. This will be referred on to Councilman Bray.
b. Commissioners Bill Case and Carlos Graham will attend the upcoming MoDOT meetings
regarding the Lafayette Street Interchange as representatives of the Commission.
c. Historic City of Jefferson Home Tour is scheduled for September 30 on Elmerine. A
request was made from Chairperson Bordner for volunteers to staff the information
booth for the Moreau Heights Historic National Register District.
d. Information regarding the past demolition approvals will be in the upcoming Annual
Report currently being prepared by Chairperson Bordner.
DATES TO REMEMBER
a. Next meeting will be September 11, 2012.
b. MO Preservation Conference will be October 24 — 26, 2012, University City.

Motion was made by Commissioner Jenny Smith and seconded by Commissioner Bill Case to
adjourn. Approval vote was unanimous.
