CALL TO ORDER
The Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) met for a Special Called MeetingTuesday, March
26, 2013, at 6:30 p.m. in the Small Conference Room, lower level of the John G. Christy
Municipal Building, 320 East McCarty Street, Jefferson City, Missouri. The meeting was called
to order by Ed Meyers, Chair.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes from the February 12, 2013 meeting.
Motion passed with a unanimous vote.
SECTION 106 REVIEW FOR 601 MULBERRY
Section 106 Review for 601 Mulberry was discussed. Once acquired and the building is
demolished, the property will have deed restrictions for green space. No future buildings will be
allowed to be constructed. Agreed as presented.
DEMOLITION APPLICATION FOR 1323 KAREN DRIVE
Demolition was approved as presented.
LANDMARK AWARDS
Three properties were approved for the 2013 Landmark Awards: 115 W. Atchison Street, owned
by Laura and Michael Ward; 718 E. Capitol Avenue, owned by Cathy and Dave Bordner; and
728 W. Main Street, owned by the Conservation Federation of Missouri.
Nominations were made to complete the necessary protocols and submit the ordinances to the
City Council.
Minutes of the City of Jefferson Historic Preservation Commission
March 26, 2013
Donna Deetz and Darryl and Connie Hubble were selected for the Greg Stockard Award.
These recipients will be recognized for their revitalization efforts along East High Street.
Commissioner Graham stated that he hoped by bringing awareness to these projects, other
property owners might be encouraged to rehabilitate their historic properties too.
These recipients will be honored at a ceremony in May.
DATES TO REMEMBER
Next meeting will be April 9, 2013.
2013 Missouri Certified Local Government Forum will be Friday, April 19, 2013.
