Personnel Board
October 22, 2009
Present: Mr. Carlos Graham, Mr. Ray Bledsoe, Mr. Glen Costales, Mrs.
Judy Dupuis, Captain Shoemaker, Chief Roger Schroeder, Mr. Pat
Murphy, and Ms. Gail Strope
The minutes were approved as read. Motions were given by Mr.
Murphy and Mr. Costales.
Old Business: There was nothing in the old business to discuss.
New Business: The Police Board reviewed the results of the
police testing score results. The criteria reviewed was (1) Education,
(2) Work History,(3) Criminal History and any additional comments or
pertinent information supplied by Lt. Clark and Lt. Heislen.
The passing score was 70. Out of 85 potential candidates, 42 had the
passing score of 70. It was determined that the top 14 candidates
would go through the remaining steps of the hiring process. The score
of 79 will supply the number 14, if a candidate is removed for any
reason, the score of 78 will be the cut off.
Ms. Strope interjected that there was a candidate that had been
missed during the notification process. He had a score of 88. The
Board approved that he/she would be considered after background
checks.
Chief Schroeder gave the Board information about the promotional
process for the promotion of ranking officers into the higher ranks,
sergeant to lieutenant, lieutenant to captain etc. The Department is
using the Police Chief Association's testing methods.
The motion was made to adjourn the meeting at 1:04 pm.
The next meeting was scheduled for December 10, 2009.
