The meeting was called to order by Chairman, Jeff Ahlers at 8:00 a.m., and a quorum was present at that
time.
1. Introductions
Chairman Ahlers opened the meeting and welcomed everyone and asked all attendees to
please sign in. Secondly, Chairman Ahlers congratulated newly appointed commission
member, Donna Deetz and welcomed her aboard to the Transportation and Traffic
Commission.
2. Acceptance of the May 16, 2012, meeting minutes
Mr. Washburn. entered a motion to accept the minutes as written, seconded by Mrs. Deetz.
All in -favor, motion carried.
3. New Business
a) Request for no parking sign on the south side of West Edgewood, west of Satinwood
Court. (Requestor: Renee D'Alessandro).
Britt Smith gave a brief staff report, and indicated Edgewood Drive is a collector street
connecting the residential subdivisions to the commercial areas of Stadium Blvd. The
roadway has a measurement of 32' width and parking has been removed on the north
side. The roadway meets the requirements, and staff recommends no change to the
current parking ordinance.
Citizens of the area affected were notified and were granted the opportunity to voice
their opinion/concerns. A brief group discussion took place between the staff and
commission members.
A motion was made by Mr. Louraine to approve the request for no parking on the
southside of West Edgewood, west of Satinwood Court and seconded by Mr. Washburn.
Motion fails by a unanimous nay vote.
Mr. Louraine then motioned for city staff to study Satinwood Court — Stadium in regards
to placing a center -line and requested to report back to the committee with their
findings/results, seconded by Mr. Hughes. All in favor, motion carries.
4. Old Business
a) Request to remove four-way stop sign at the intersection of Scenic Drive and Joe Lane.
(Requestor: Vic Lock)
Britt Smith gave a brief staff report and stated this has been an area visited many times
by the Transportation and Traffic Commission. A traffic study revealed that the
intersection does not meet warrants for a four way stop. Previously the Commission
denied the request to place the stop signs. The neighborhood then. petitioned the City
Council directly and was granted the four -way stop.
Many residence of the neighborhood were present at the meeting, and were given the
opportunity to speak. A lengthy discussion between the attendees, the staff, and the
commission took place.
A motion was then made by Mr. Fitzwater to remove the four-way stop at the
intersection of Scenic Drive and Joe Lane, and seconded by Mr. Hughes.
The motion failed by the following vote:
Aye: Kevin Kelly
Nay: Ron Fitzwater, Michael Hughes, Mikeal Louraine,
Donna Deetz, and .Bill Washburn.
Abstained: (none)
5. Other Business

Chairman Ahlers recommended a certificate be presented to Mr. Raub as a token of
appreciation from the Commission.
6. - Adjourn
Mr. Louraine moved to adjourn the meeting at 9:09 a.m., seconded by Mr. Fitzwater.
Meeting adjourned.
