The meeting was called to order by Chairman Ahlers at 8:15 a.m., and a quorum was present at that
time.
1. Introduction
Chairman Ahlers welcomed all and requests attendees to sign in. Two new commission
members introduced, welcomed aboard, and given opportunity to speaks to commission.
Bill Washburn attended, acknowledged, and thanked for his years of service with
Transportation and Traffic Commission. He was presented a certificate from the board.
Mr. Washburn's term expired in April 2013, along with commission member, Mr. Kevin Kelly.
2. Acceptance of the March 13, 2013, meeting minutes
Mrs. Deetz motioned to accept minutes as written, seconded by Mr. Towner.
All in favor, motion carried.
ir. New Business
a) Request for stop sign on Marion Drive at Ridgewood Drive
(Requeston Elizabeth Vaught).
A brief overview of area was given by staff member, Britt Smith. Britt states, Marion Drive is
located on the west -end of the city, has a limited network of vehicles, and no large amount of

vehicles travel in this area. No traffic study was conducted and no warrants met for the
addition of a stop sign.
Ms. Elizabeth Vaught was in attendance and given the opportunity to speak to commission.
Ms. Vaught felt additional traffic control required for the safety of the elderly and children in
the neighborhood.
A brief discussion took place between staff and commission. Sgt. Ruediger adds, two accidents
have occurred in this area between September 2006 and August 2011, one at intersection and
one involved a residence backing out of driveway and hit parked car. Mr. Schwartze motioned
to request a stop sign on Marion Drive at Ridgewood Drive, seconded by Mr. Diemler.
Motion carried by the following votes:
Aye: Ryan Towner, Michael Hughes, Timothy Diemler, Donna Deetz, and Jeff Ahlers
Nay: Ron Fitzwater, Mark Kross, and Roger Schwartze
Abstained: NONE

a) Discussion of possible meeting date change (Staff)
Discussion took place between staff and commission members, in regards to consideration of
amending 2013 calendar to reflect all Transportation and Traffic Commission meetings to be
held on the second Wednesday of month, instead of second Wednesday, after the 1st City
Council meeting. Mr. Towner motioned to approve the request and to amend the 2013
approved calendar, seconded by Mr. Schwartze. All in favor, motion carried. The next
scheduled meeting will be June 12, 2013 at 8:15 a.m.
6. Adjourn
Mr. Hughes motioned to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Mark Kross. Meeting adjourns.
