Home My Public Portal About01-16-2014THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, JANUARY 16, 2014 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., Thursday, January 16, 2014, in the Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th Street, Richmond, Indiana. President Robinson called the meeting to order and the following business was conducted: ROLL CALL Present were: Vicki Robinson, Tony Foster and Dian Lawson. Also in attendance were Kim Vessels, Assistant City Attorney; Karen Chasteen, City Clerk; Bill Thistlethwaite; Lt. Donnie Benedict; Tammy Glenn, City Controller; and, Media. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Foster moved to approve the minutes for the January 9, 2014 meeting with a second by Ms. Lawson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Foster moved to approve the claims for payment for December 20, 2013 in the amount of Three Hundred Fifty Two Thousand Four Hundred Seventy Three Dollars and sixty seven cents ($352,473.67), supported by Ms. Lawson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. Ms. Lawson moved to approve the claims for payment for January 10, 2014 in the amount of Eight Hundred Forty Eight Thousand One Hundred Twenty One Dollars and fifty cents ($848,121.50), supported by Mr. Foster. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. Mr. Foster moved to approve the claims for payment for January 17, 2014 in the amount of Two Hundred Fourteen Thousand Forty Nine Dollars and eleven cents ($214,948.11), supported by Ms. Lawson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. REQUESTS • ROAD CLOSURE: MELTDOWN WINTER FESTIVAL 2014 NORTH 8T" — "D" to "E" - JANUARY 31 (3 pm) — FEBRUARY 2, 2014 (1 pm) EAST MAIN STREET — SOUTH 9T" — 10T STREET — JANUARY 31 (3 — 9 pm) Carvings will be located throughout Center City. This event will coincide with the grand opening of the Indiana University East Room 912 (Art Center). Ms. Lawson moved to approve, supported by Mr. Foster. BID OPENINGS - None BID AWARDS - None CONTRACTS • CONTRACT NO. 5 -2014 — INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT City of Richmond and Richmond Sanitary District Safety Officer $59,438.97 (salary and benefits) Sanitary District - 50 %; Park Department — 25 %; and, Street Department — 25% Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Ms. Lawson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 6-2014— INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT City of Richmond, Richmond Sanitary District and Stormwater Board Sewer Billing Clerks (2) $55,755.44 (plus benefits) Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Ms. Lawson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 7-2014— INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT City of Richmond and Richmond Sanitary Distrrict Finance /Accounting Services $81,880.23 (salary, benefits & supplies) Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Ms. Lawson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CHANGE ORDERS • CONTRACT NO. 97-2013— HOME REHAB 200 South 14th Street Moves $2,500 from Flooring to Plumbing Tabled ADDENDUMS - None Board of Works Minutes January 16, 2014 Page 3 of 3 RESOLUTIONS • RESOLUTION NO. 1 — A RESOLUTION FOR THE SALE AND TRANSFER OF SURPLUS WEIGHTS AND MEASURES PERSONAL PROPERTY TO WAYNE COUNTY, INDIANA (Does not include truck) Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Ms. Lawson.
