THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, MAY 31, 2007
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M.,
Thursday, May 31, 2007, in the Community Room at the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th
Street, Richmond, Indiana. In attendance were Board Members Vicki Robinson, Dian Lawson
and Mary Jo Flood. Also attending were Assistant City Attorney Kenyatta Cox and Captain
Terry Hopkins.
The following business was conducted:
CALL TO ORDER
Robinson called the meeting to order and noted for the minutes that all board members and legal
counsel were present.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Robinson made a request to the board to approve the minutes for the May 24, 2007 meeting.
Flood made a motion to approve with a second by Lawson. The motion was unanimously
passed.
CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT
Robinson made a request to the board to approve the claims for payment in the amount of
$128,831.75. There were only two items of significance and they were a payment to Wayne
County Treasurer for the City's share of 911 salaries and benefits in the amount of $32,753.25
and a payment to Milestone Contractors for hot and cold mix for the City streets in the amount of
$53,852.51. Lawson made a motion to approve with a second by Flood. The motion was
unanimously passed.
REQUEST
A. There was only one request on the agenda for approval and it was to change the dates
of the "Family Summer Fest" from June 9, 2007 to July 7, 2007 from 6:00 AM to
8:00 PM with a street closure amendment including the closure of the 100 block of
South 6th Street for through southbound traffic. Lawson asked Captain Hopkins about
Residential Handicap Parking Spaces in the area that was to be closed. He stated that
he was more concerned about the flow of traffic in the area during the event that he
didn't check the handicap parking spaces. Lawson made a motion to table the request
until Captain Hopkins could check to see if there were any Residential Handicap

Parking Spaces that would be affected during this time with a second by Robinson.
The motion was passed with Flood abstaining.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, on a motion duly made, seconded and unanimously. The
meeting was adjourned.
