A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING ITS ANNUAL INDEPENDENCE DAY FIREWORKS
SHOW EVENT TO BE SCHEDULED ON JULY 3 OF EACH YEAR
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood desires to continue to present a community
fireworks celebration in honor of the nation's Independence Day holiday each year; and
WHEREAS, the annual City of Lynwood Independence Day Fireworks Show has
become a time-honored community tradition within the City; and
WHEREAS,the City finds that rescheduling the Independence Day fireworks event
to July 3rd of each year has become the most logistically effective and cost-efficient
manner in which to host this community event; and
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council for the City of Lynwood finds and declares that the
forgoing recitals are true and correct, and incorporates said recitals fully into this
Resolution as substantive findings.
Section 2. The City Council hereby approves the rescheduling of the
Independence Day fireworks show to July 3 of each year.
Section 3. The City Council authorizes staff to schedule the event on July 3rd of
each year, consistently evaluate impacts of the new event date and, if necessary, bring
back any future recommended changes for City Council consideration. Costs for the event
shall be considered during the City's standard budget development process for each fiscal
year.
Section 4. The City Manager or his designee is authorized to carry out necessary
transactions as so ordered by this resolution.
Section 5. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 19th day of April 2022.
