AN ORDINANCE RATIFYING THE AMENDMENT BETWEEN THE AMALGAMATED TRANSIT UNION LOCAL
NO. 1474 AND THE CITY OF RICHMOND AND AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 53-1985.
WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works and Safety through its wage negotiating team
has negotiated with the representatives of the Amalgamated Transit
Union, Local Union No. 1474, representing bus drivers for the Rose
View Transit System, formerly the City of Richmond Transit Authority,
and in said negotiations have agreed to amend their Agreement
previously entered into by the union and the City fad dated the 25th
day of February, 1982; and
WHEREAS, Indiana Code I.C. 36-4-7-3 authorized the Common Council of the City
of Richmond, Indiana to ratify such amendments; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works and Safety and the Amalgamated Transit Union
Local No. 1474 have set their hands and seals this 5th day of July,
1985 to the amendments to the Agreement; and
WHEREAS, such amendments to the Agreement have been approved by Mayor Frank H.
Waltermann; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, desires to ratify
such amendments to the Agreement and to incorporate such amendments
and the original Agreement into this ordinance; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 53-1985,the 1986 salary ordinance, included the salary
for the bus drivers at the rate of $ 7.21 per hour; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 53-1985 needs to be amended to set the salary based on
the rate of $ 7.22 per hour;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana that;
SECTION 1. The Agreement previously entered into by the Union and the
City and dated the 25th day of February, 1982, and the amendments to
such Agreement entered into by the Union and the City and dated the 5th
day of July, 1985, and known as Addendum No. Four, are hereby adopted
by reference, ratified and incorporated into this ordinance.
SECTION 2. That for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 1986 and
ending December 31, 1986 the following appointed officers and
employees of the City of Richmond, Indiana shall receive the following
salaries for the positions:
PUBLIC TRANSIT DIVISION
Bus Drivers (10) $ 15,017.60

REFERENCE: Professional Negotiation Agreement with City Bus Drivers
Ordinance No. 4-1986
Attached is Addendum No. 5 to the 1982 contract between the City and the bus
drivers. The rate of pay is an increase of .22 per hour from $7.08 per hour in 1985.
The uniforms will be purchased with money appropriated for clothing allowance.
Ms. Janet Sams will be at the Council meeting to answer your questions.
