Attendance Present: Committee Members: Councilman Rick Prather, Councilman Larry Henry, Councilman Carlos Graham, Councilman Rick Mihalevich, and Councilman Ken Hussey Guests: Interim City Administrator Drew Hilpert, Police Chief Roger Schroeder, and Interim Fire Chief Jason Turner Approval of Minutes Councilman Henry made a motion to approve the minutes of the October 3, 2013, committee meeting. Councilman Mihalevich seconded the motion. Minutes were approved. Discussion of Agenda Items OLD BUSINESS None. NEW BUSINESS City of Jefferson Agreement to Furnish Joint Communications Services to Cole County Addendum Interim City Administrator Hilpert stated this addendum formerly establishes that 911 services will be broadcast from an emergency backup center when needed. There is no cost involved, and no advance notice is required to be given to Cole County. Councilman Henry made a motion to move the addendum on to the City Council for consideration. Councilman Hussey seconded the motion. Motion approved. OTHER BUSINESS Interim City Administrator Hilpert advised during a financial audit, it was suggested the City institute an ordinance to authorize the municipal judge to order a warrant fee up to $50.00. This complies with that suggestion by stating in an ordinance the City’s current practice. Councilman Graham made a motion to move the proposed ordinance on to the City Council for consideration. Councilman Hussey seconded the motion. Motion approved. The next regularly-scheduled committee meeting will fall on November 28th, which is Thanksgiving. A suggestion to move the meeting to Wednesday, November 27 was rejected as 2 several committee members will be attending the 34th Annual Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce Prayer Breakfast that morning. After discussion, it was the decision of the committee to meet on the next regularly-scheduled meeting date of January 2, 2014. A meeting will be scheduled prior to that date if the need arises. Adjourn Councilman Henry made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Councilman Graham seconded the motion. Meeting was adjourned at 8:05 a.m.
