A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF .THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING THE FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE MASTER
AGREEMENT WITH MV CHENG & ASSOCIATES AND AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE FIRST AMENDMENT
WHEREAS, in March, the City entered into an agreement with MV Cheng &
Associates under the City Manager's Purchasing Authority ($25,000), to provide
temporary staffing services to the Finance & Administration Department ("Master
Agreement"); and
WHEREAS, with the recent resignation of the Senior Accountant, the Finance
&Administration Department ("Department") is down one key position. In order for the
Department to stay on task with its daily operations and not fall behind, it was
imperative that the position be filled on a temporary basis until the recruitment has
been completed and full-time staff is hired; and
WHEREAS, staff is recommending that the City Council authorize the Mayor to
approve the First Amendment to the Master Agreement with MV Cheng & Associates
to utilize an additional $100,000 in funding to cover costs until the Senior Accounting
position is filled; and
WHEREAS, recruitment for the position is currently underway. Staff anticipates
that the position be filled within the next few months, following interviews and if an ideal
candidate has been chosen.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby finds and declares
that the foregoing recitals are true and correct, and incorporates them herein as
findings and as a substantive part of this Resolution
Section 2. The City Council authorizes the Mayor to execute the First
Amendment to the Master Agreement with MV Cheng & Associates in the amount of
$100,000, based on the continued need for temporary staff services until the Senior
Accounting position has been filled, in a form approved by the City Attorney.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
adoption.

Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this City Council
Resolution.
