A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
ADOPTING THE CITYWIDE SPEED ZONE SURVEY AND SPEED LIMIT
STUDY PREPARED BY INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEERS AS THE
ENGINEERING AND TRAFFIC SURVEY REQUIRED BY SECTION 627
OF THE CALIFORNIA VEHICLE CODE
WHEREAS, per California Vehicle Code sections 627, 22357, 22358 and 40802,
the engineering and traffic study or Speed Zone Survey, to establish the proper speed
limit, is required every five (5) years; and
WHEREAS,the last Engineering and Traffic study/Speed Survey Study for arterial
and collector roads was conducted in 2016; and
WHEREAS, Infrastructure Engineers has prepared and completed a "Citywide
Speed Zone Survey and Speed Limit Study (Engineering and Traffic Survey)" dated
March 15, 2022 for the City Council's consideration and adoption.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby finds and declares that
the foregoing recitals are true and correct, and incorporates them herein as findings and
as a substantive part of this Resolution.
Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby adopts the
"Citywide Speed Zone Survey and Speed Limit Study (Engineering and Traffic Survey)"
attached hereto as Exhibit A which represents the engineering and traffic survey required
by Section 627 of the California Vehicle Code to enforce speed limits by radar or other
electronic devices.
Section 3. This Resolution shall go into effect immediately upon its adoption.
Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this Resolution.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 5th day of A•ril, 2022.
