HomeMy Public PortalAbout2022.082 (05-03-22) RESOLUTION NO. 2022.082 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING HSIP-5250(032) MLK JR. BLVD TRAFFIC SIGNAL IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT" WHEREAS, The State of California Department of Transportation awarded the City $292,100 in federal funds; and WHEREAS, on June 21, 2021, the City received the Authorization to Proceed (E- 76) with the construction on the project from Caltrans; and WHEREAS, the HSIP Cycle 5 - Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard from Alvada Street to Benwell Drive Improvement Project consists of removal and replacement of crosswalks, pedestrian signals, and signs; and WHEREAS, on October 28, 2021, the Notice Inviting Bids for the project was advertised in the Daily Journal, Bid America, and on the City's web site (PlanetBids); and WHEREAS, on March 01, 2022, the City Council approved an award of a construction contract to International Line Builders, Inc. in the amount of $295,350.00, and WHEREAS, replacement of cross walks is included in the scope of work for traffic improvements; and WHEREAS, per CVC Code Section 21950.5 a notification to the public shall be given at least 30 days prior to the scheduled removal of an existing marked crosswalk; and WHEREAS, the notice required by CVC 21950.5 subdivision (a) shall include, but is not limited to, notification to the public of both of the following (1) That the public may provide input relating to the scheduled removal; (2) The form and method of providing the input authorized by paragraph (1). NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby finds and declares that the foregoing recitals are true and correct, and incorporates them herein as findings and as a substantive part of this Resolution. Section 2. Staff will post the required 30-day Crosswalk Removal Notice per CVC Code Section 21950.5 and will hold the required public hearing. Section 3. Authorize the Mayor to execute the Resolution for and on behalf of the City of Lynwood. Section 4. This Resolution shall take full force and effect immediately upon adoption by the City Council.
