Call to Order
The meeting was called to order by Ed Meyers at 6.01 pm, June 10, 2014.
Approval of Agenda
The agenda was amended to add Council Issues. Without objection the agenda as amended
was approved.
Approval of Minutes
Chair Meyers asked for any changes to the minutes as printed. Without objection the minutes
were approved as printed.
Council Issues

Vacant Seat: Councilman Henry reported that Councilman Schulte from the 2 Ward resigned
his seat as he moved out of the Ward. There is still time to submit names for consideration to fill
the unexpired term. The vote will be held in July.
Abandoned Buildings: Councilman Henry indicated that there has been some progress and
momentum seems to be building to reduce the number of abandoned buildings. Janice
McMillan added that several of the buildings in question are on East Capitol. The owner has
been advised of what actions are necessary to avoid action by the city and a tax lien.
801 Locust and 111 Adams: The City has condemned these properties and in the process of
requesting bids for demolition.
Demolition Applications
501 Marshall: The Commissioners viewed recent pictures of the property and surrounding area.
The building needs to be removed due to the Hwy 50 ramps that will be necessary at the
Lafayette exchange. Ms. Schantz moved that the application be approved. Ms. Moore
seconded. Motion passed.

Mr. Schreiber moved adjournment. Mr. Langston seconded the motion. Motion passed.
