ABOLISHING CARTERET LOCAL ASISTANCE BOARD/
WEFARE AGENCY
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 02-74, the Governing body of Carteret
has authorized the transfer of the Work First New Jersey/General Assistance
(WFNJ/GA) program to the Middlesex County Board of Social Services; and
WFIEREAS, the County of Middlesex notified the Borough of Carteret that it
would assume administration of the WFNJ/GA Program effective November 1,
2002, and has been providing said administrative services since that date.
NOW, TItEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey, as follows:
1. That the Carteret Local Assistance Board and Welfare
Agency is hereby abolished effective December 31, 2002.
2. That the function, powers and duties of the Carteret Local
Assistance Board and Welfare Agency have been transferred to the
Middlesex County Board of Social Services effective November 1,
2002.
3. That a certified copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the
Carteret Local Assistance Board, Middlesex County Board of
Social Services and the New Jersey Division of Family
Development.
Adopted this 19th day of December, 2002
and certified as a true copy of the
original on December 20, 2002.
