AUTHORIZING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT WITH
SPADORO & HILSON / WANSKUS V. CARTERET
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret has retained the legal services of the law
firm of Spadoro & Hilson in connection with the defense and prosecution of the matter of
Harold S~perstein v. John Wanskus, et al., Docket No. L-950-99; and
WHEREAS, counsel for the Wanskus Organization has filed an appeal which the
Borough must defend; and
WHEREAS, the Borough wishes to continue to use the services of the law firm
of Spadoro & Hilson for the aforementioned legal services; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that fimds are available for
the same.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey as follows:
1. That the appointment of the law firm of Spadoro & Hilson as
special counsel in the above referenced legal matter at an hourly rate of
$125 per hour for a maximum cost not to exceed $16,000.00 is hereby
approved.
2. That a copy of this Resolution is forwarded to the Borough's
Purchasing Agent and Spadoro & Hilson, Esqs.
3. This award is made as a professional services contract pursuant to
N.J.S.A 40A: 11-5(1)(a) and a notice of this' award shall be advertised as
required by law.
