A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
APPROVING A FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH
NORTH STAR LAND CARE INCREASING THE NOT TO EXCEED
COST TO $850,000 ANNUALLY AND APPROPRIATING $130,352
FROM THE LANDSCAPE ASSESSMENT DISTRICT TO THE TREE
MAINTENANCE DIVISION (2701.45.620)
WHEREAS, on July 16, 2019, the City approved to enter into an agreement with
North Star Land Care (North Star) to provide tree trimming, maintenance, and
inspection services (Resolution No. 2019.086). ; and
WHEREAS, included in the agreement is a provision for a no-to-exceed annual
compensation to North Star of$600,000 annually; and
WHEREAS, to complete Grid 6 and to include tree removals and trimming
related to Capital Improvement Projects the not-to-exceed annual compensation
to North Star will be exceeded, and
WHEREAS, North Star is willing to provide services to the City above the not-to-
exceed annual compensation limit; and
WHEREAS, staff has found the North Star's cost for tree removals is competitive
and services as responsive.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby finds and declares
that the foregoing recitals are true and correct, and incorporates them herein as findings
and as a substantive part of this Resolution.
Section 2. That the City Council approves the First Amendment to the Tree
Trimming Services Agreement with North Star Land Care to increase the not-to-exceed
compensation and authorizes the Mayor to execute the First Amendment attached
hereto as Exhibit B and in a form approved by the City Attorney.

Section 3. That the City Council approves the following appropriation:

Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
