HomeMy Public PortalAbout2022.099 (06-21-22) RESOLUTION NO. 2022.099 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING STAFF TO EXECUTE A THREE-YEAR CONTRACT WITH EXPOSHOWS, INC. FOR FIREWORKS DISPLAY SERVICES IN SUPPORT OF THE CITY'S ANNUAL INDEPENDENCE DAY FIREWORKS SHOW EVENTS IN 2022, 2023 AND 2024 WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood desires to continue to present a community fireworks celebration in honor of the nation's Independence Day holiday; and WHEREAS, the annual City of Lynwood Fireworks Show has become a time-honored community tradition within the City, and WHEREAS, the City desires to efficiently and cost-effectively acquire services in support of this community event; and WHEREAS, staff has negotiated a three-year contract with professional fireworks show provider, Exposhows, Inc. that will effectively stabilize the cost of the City's fireworks show for three-years; and WHEREAS, per Chapter 6-3.10 of the Lynwood Municipal Code, the City Manager is authorized to sign contracts to procure professional/special services which do not exceed a total contract or purchase order amount of twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00) in any one-year period. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The City Council for the City of Lynwood finds and declares that the forgoing recitals are true and correct, and incorporates said recitals fully into this Resolution as substantive findings. Section 2. The City Council for the City of Lynwood finds that due to the unique nature of the services provided, this vendor is the only source of such service. As a result, the City is not required to procure such service through a formal bidding procedure. Section 3. The City Council authorizes the Mayor to execute a three-year services contract with Exposhows, Inc. as presented for contracting of fireworks display services in support of the City's Independence Day fireworks show in a form approved by the City Attorney. 1 Section 4. The City Council hereby approves the value of the contract in an amount not to exceed $18,000/year for each of three-years plus any A-la-carte services that may be requested in any of the contract years. Section 5. That the funding appropriations for each of the three contract years be considered as part of the City's standard budget development process for each relative year. Section 6. Authorize the Mayor to execute the Resolution for and on behalf of the City of Lynwood. Section 7. This Resolution shall take full force and effect immediately upon adoption by the City Council. Section 8. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 215t day of June, 2022.
