HomeMy Public PortalAbout2022.108 (06-21-22) RESOLUTION NO. 2022.108 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL AND THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AMENDING AND UPDATING THE CITY'S SALARY SCHEDULE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE MEMORANDUMS OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU) BETWEEN THE CITY OF LYNWOOD, THE LYNWOOD EMPLOYEES' MANAGEMENT GROUP (LEMG) AND THE LYNWOOD EMPLOYEES' ASSOCIATION (LEA)/AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY AND MUNICPAL EMPLOYEES (AFSCME), LOCAL 1920 WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood is a General Law City under California law and is governed by and elected City Council; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood has adopted an Employee Classification and Position Plan and on occasion amends the plan as needed, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood has adopted a salary resolution with salary schedules for Management and General employees, and WHEREAS, negotiations between the City of Lynwood, The Lynwood Employees' Management Group (LEMG) and The Lynwood Employees' Association (LEA)/American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), Local 1920 took place and agreements with both bargaining groups were reached in late 2021, and WHEREAS, the Memorandums of Understanding between the City of Lynwood, The Lynwood Employees' Management Group (LEMG) and the Lynwood Employees' Association (LEA)/American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), Local 1920, contain language in which a three-percent (3%) Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) is to be afforded to members within both bargaining units on July 1, 2022; and WHEREAS, the City's salary schedule must be amended to reflect the agreed upon COLA increases of three-percent (3%) in each respective bargaining unit's MOU; NOW, THEREFORE, THE LYNWOOD CITY COUNCIL DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby finds and declares that the foregoing recitals are true and correct, and incorporates them herein as findings and as a substantive part of this Resolution Section 2. Amend the Employees Classification Plan, Salary Schedule to include the updated salaries for all employees within each bargaining unit to reflect the agreed upon Cost of Living Adjustments (COLA's) in each MOU. 1 Section 3. Authorize the Mayor to execute the Resolution for and on behalf of the City of Lynwood. Section 4. That the modifications so ordered by this Resolution shall become effective July 1, 2022 upon its adoption.
