A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF NEW HOLIDAY DECORATIONS FOR THE
CITY AND APPROVING AN APPROPRIATION FROM THE UNASSIGNED
FUND BALANCE OF $102,226 TO COVER THE COST
WHEREAS, New holiday decorations are needed in order to enhance the look of
the City during the holiday season; and
WHEREAS, The new decorations will be placed on the light poles along Martin
Luther King Jr. Blvd. and Atlantic Ave. as well as various intersections throughout the
City, and
WHEREAS, a variety of decorations were selected from two different vendors; and
WHEREAS, the City currently has $50,000 available to spend for the purchase of
new decorations and an appropriation from the unassigned fund balance in the amount
of $102,226 will be needed to cover the remaining balance.
NOW, THEREFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA
DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby finds and declares
that the foregoing recitals are true and correct, and incorporates them herein as findings
and as a substantive part of this Resolution.
Section 2. The City Council of the City of Lynwood finds, by a vote of at least
4/5s of its members, that securing the purchase of these decorations via this informal
bidding process is more economical and efficient than a formal bidding procedure.
Section 3. That the Lynwood City Council authorizes the City Manager move
forward with the purchase of the new holiday decorations for the City and approve an
appropriation from the unassigned fund balance in the amount of$102,226.
Section 4. Authorize the Mayor to execute an agreement in a form approved by
the City Attorney for and on behalf of the City of Lynwood.
Section 5. Authorize the Mayor to execute the Resolution for and on behalf of
the City of Lynwood.
Section 6. This Resolution shall take full force and effect immediately upon
adoption by the City Council.
