Police Personnel Board
Minutes—August 6, 2014
The meeting was called to order at 12:04pm.
Nine persons attended as follows:

Ms. Lisa Turner (Secretary) Lt. Deric Heislen
Mr. George Minze Lt. Jeff Stiefermann
Mr. Ray Bledsoe
Following greetings, roll call was taken.
Approval of June 26, 2014 minutes
It was moved by Derks and seconded by Minze that the minutes for the June 26th meeting be approved. The motion
was carried unanimously.
New Business: Lt. Jeff Stiefermann was introduced to the Board. He was promoted to Lieutenant charged with
oversight of the Office of Professional Standards.
Testing Update – Lt. Heislen announced that there were 60 applications for both police officer and communications
positions. A total of Twenty One applicants were tested for the communications openings and Thirty Four applicants
were tested for Police Officer openings.
Vacancy for Personnel Board – Mr. Bill Burton has applied to fill the board vacancy. Mr. Burton’s application will be
reviewed by the council and Mayor. More information will be available at the next board meeting.
Other Business
Appreciation Day- Mr. Derks discussed the progress of the Appreciation Day that is set for lunch the day of September
17th, 2014. Minze and Dillon have made the majority of calls for donations with much success. Rias and Menu Makers
will furnish the food and some of the other items. We will continue to get donations and discuss at the next board
meeting.
Closed Session
Ms. Dillon moved and Derks seconded that the Board move into closed session pursuant to RSMo 610-021 to discuss
personnel issues. MOTION PASSED 5-0
Derks moved and Minze seconded that the Board come out of closed session. The Board came out of closed session at
1:20p.m.
Next meeting date – The next meeting is September 4, 2014.
