AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL,
ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM
THE SOUTHERN DISTRICT OF INDIANA, U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE
WHEREAS, the Southern District of Indiana, U.S. Department of Justice, through its
program Bureau of Justice Assistance Programs, Project Safe
Neighborhoods, has grant funding available; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond, through the Richmond Police Department, desires to
submit a grant application to help with the expenses of overtime pay for
officers and the purchase of crime -tracking software; and
WHEREAS, no local match is required for this grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond Police Department is hereby authorized to submit a
grant application to The Southern District of Indiana, U.S. Department of Justice, to assist
with the overtime pay for officers and the purchase of crime -tracking software.
2. The City of Richmond Police Department is authorized to accept said grant
funding in an amount up to Twenty -Two Thousand Two Hundred Sixty Dollars and Zero
Cents ($22,260.00).
3. Said funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond, shall be appropriated to assist
with overtime pay for officers and the purchase of crime -tracking software.
Passed and adopted this _18th_ day of June, 2007 by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana.
