AN AMENDMENT TO AMEND THE CODE OF ORDINANCES
CITY OF TYBEE ISLAND
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF ORDINANCES FOR THE CITY OF
TYBEE ISLAND, GEORGIA, SO AS TO AMEND SECTION 8 -3 -080 REGARDING OFF -
STREET PARKING REQUIREMENTS, TO PROVIDE FOR TILE REPEAL OF
CONFLICTING ORDINANCES AND TO PROVIDE FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND
FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City of Tybee Island is a duly organized municipality under the laws of
the State of Georgia; and
WHEREAS, amendments to the Code of Ordinances are appropriate with respect to
charges and fees for certain services and permits;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the governing authority of the City of Tybee
Island, Georgia, duly assembled, that the Code of Ordinances is hereby amended so as to amend
Section 8 -3 -080 so as to amend Subsection (B) thereof so that hereafter said section will read as
follows:
(B) Control of access to structures used for residential purposes including
condominiums, town homes, apartments and the like whether owner occupied or held for rental.
In order to promote the safety of motorists and pedestrians, the following regulations shall apply:
1. A driveway opening which connects a lot with a public street shall not be
greater than 25 feet in width.
2. There shall be no more than two driveway openings on any lot of any
width.

Severability. The sections, paragraphs, sentences, clauses and phrases of this ordinance
are severable, and if any phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph, or section of this ordinance shall be
declared invalid by the valid judgment or decrees of any court of competent jurisdiction, such
illegalities shall not effect any of the remaining phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs and
sections of this ordinance.
Repealer. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
expressly repealed.
Adoption/Effective Date. The adoption date of this ordinance is
N. Ce , 200 %, and it shall become effective on that date.
