Home My Public Portal About1996-12 Department Size and Salaries0 ORDINANCE 1996 -12 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE SIZE OF DEPARTMENTS OF CITY GOVERNMENT OF THE CITY OF GREENCASTLE, INDIANA, FIXING SALARIES FOR THE EMPLOYEES OF SUCH DEPARTMENTS AND FIXING THE SALARIES OF CERTAIN OTHER APPOINTED OFFICIALS FOR THE YEAR 1997 BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Greencastle, Indiana, as follows: SECTION ONE That all eligible full time members of the departments of the City of Greencastle shall be paid longevity beginning the first day of the anniversary month of the fourth y ear of service. Longevity shall be based on 3 %, 4 1/ 0 and 5 %: at')-5 years of service, 3 %: 6-11 vears of service, 4 °'0: and 12 years of service and over 5 11 0. Full time members shall be compensated for authorized overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act, 29 U.S.C.A. 207. SECTION TWO: That the Police Department shalt consist of nineteen (19) full time members and in addition, part time dispatchers in the maximum allowable number and six (6) part time school crossing gttards. Base pay ranges, including the maximum, shall be as follows: P5 - Police Chief 27,344.00 - longevity P5 - Assistant Chief 24,900.00 —longevity P4 - Captain (3) 23,605.00 - longevity ea. P3 - Sergeant (3) 22,936.00 - longevity ea. P2 - Patrolman (5) 22,367.00 +longevity ea. That the Sewage Department shall pay to the City Engineer of the City of Greencastle for services rendered by the City Engineer on behalf of the Sewage Department during the year 1997 the sum of Fourteen Thousand Nine Hundred Eighty Six Dollars (S14,986). That the Sewage Department shall pay to each of the two (2) citizen members of the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Greencastle for services rendered by the citizen members of the Board of Public Works and Safety on behalf of the Sewage Department during the year 1997 the sum of Five Hundred Twentv Dollars (5520.00). SECTION EIGHT: That the Department of Water Works shall consist of eleven (11) full time members and two (2) part time members.
