A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH
THE PUN GROUP, LLP TO PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL AUDITING
SERVICES
WHEREAS, the contracts with The Pun Group, LLP to provide professional
auditing services and has utilized the firm's services since 2016; and
WHEREAS, the annual audit is required by the State and is made available to
external users such as bond credit agencies, investors and the public; and
WHEREAS, it is important that the City contract with an audit firm that possess
high qualifications, extensive experience auditing local government agencies, and a high
level of professionalism and expertise; and
WHEREAS, staff is recommending that the City Council authorize the Mayor to
enter into a new agreement with The Pun Group, LLP; and
WHEREAS, due to the Pun Group's extensive experience auditing local
government agencies, high level of professionalism and expertise and the timing of the
year-end audit field work and in order to ensure timely issuance of the Annual
Comprehensive Financial Report, we request that the City Council exercise the 4/5ths
rule to approve this agreement, pursuant to Section 6-3.13 (a)(3) of the Lynwood
Municipal Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby finds and declares that
the foregoing recitals are true and correct, and incorporates them herein as findings and
as a substantive part of this Resolution.
Section 2. Per Section 6-3.13.3 of the Lynwood Municipal Code, the Lynwood
City Council finds, by this Resolution adopted by not less than four -fifths (4/5) of its
members, that acquisition of the Pun Group's auditing services may be more economically
and efficiently effected through the use of an alternate procedure due to the Pun Group's

extensive experience auditing local government agencies, and high level of
professionalism and expertise.
Section 3. The City Council authorizes the Mayor to enter into an agreement
with The Pun Group, LLP for professional auditing services for year ending June 30, 2022
and June 30, 2023, approved as to form by the City Attorney. The City Council also
authorizes the Mayor to execute this Resolution for and on behalf of the City of Lynwood.
Section 4. This Resolution shall take full force and effect immediately upon
adoption by the City Council.
Section 5. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this City Council
Resolution.
