The Regular Meeting of the Personnel Board of the City of Lynwood was held on
Thursday, June 16, 2022 at 5:04 p.m. through teleconference via Zoom 1(669)900-9128

prescribed by the Brown Act.
CALL TO ORDER
Chairperson Delgadillo called the meeting to order at 5:06 p.m. Patrick Matson, Human
Resources Director took roll call.

CITY OF LYNWOOD
SENIOR MANAGEMENT ANALYST
DEFINITION
Under direction, performs highly complex professional administrative and
analytical work in support of assigned department managerial functions; performs
related duties as required.
The Senior Management Analyst is a multiple position class filled by experienced
administrative personnel who conduct projects or direct programs; analyzes
problems, compiles data and makes appropriate recommendations. The Senior
Management Analyst may be assigned to various City departments.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Works under the general supervision of an assigned administrator.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
May exercise direct supervision over subordinate staff in execution of assigned
duties.
EXAMPLE OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Essential duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Conducts or directs assigned projects or program activity; provides administrative
assistance in the performance of research and statistical analysis regarding
issues, proposed legislation, programs, or operations; prepares and presents
reports of findings and recommendations as to appropriate action.
As assigned, administers contract or grant -funded program activity, directing and
monitoring work performed; prepares or drafts related proposals, reports, and
records: monitors budget expenditures.
Compiles information and prepares manuals, documents, agenda items,
resolutions, or publications relating to administrative, fiscal, or operational issues.
As designated representative, leads or participates in committee activity;
coordinates or conducts activities with other City departments, agencies and
organizations and the community, contributing views and interests of the
department in execution of assigned duties.

Provides assistance to department management, other City personnel, and the
public regarding administrative, fiscal, or operational issues, policies. or
procedures.
Participates in the development of departmental goals and objectives; participates
in the development of the assigned departmental budgets and in budget
administration
QUALIFICATIONS GUIDELINES:
Knowledge of: the principles of municipal administration, accounting and auditing.
budget and grants management, community relations, and program planning;
related laws, ordinances, and regulations; principles of research, statistical
analysis, and report preparation: methods and techniques of supervision.
Ability to: perform complex professional administrative and analytical work
requiring sensitivity to issues; interpret and apply related laws, ordinances, and
polices; conduct research; prepare and present reports; provide liaison to other
city personnel. other agencies, and the public; work independently; establish and
maintain cooperative working relationships; communicate effectively both orally
and in writing; direct the work of others involved in related activity.
Education and/or Experience: Any combination of education and/or experience
that has provided the knowledge, skills. and abilities necessary. Example
combinations include:
Completion of a four-year college curriculum in public administration, accounting,
or a related field; and at least three years of responsible public sector experience
related to the responsibilities of the assigned position. A master's degree in public
or business administration is preferred.
