HomeMy Public PortalAbout043-2007 - 2007 Budget Amendment - Metro Dev salariesORDINANCE NO.43-2007 AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.55-2006 KNOWN AS THE 2007 SALARY ORDINANCE WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-4-7-3 requires the Mayor to fix the compensation of each appointive officer, deputy and other employee of the city departments, except police officers and firefighters, prior to September 30 for the ensuing budget year subject to the approval of Common Council; and WHEREAS, the compensation fixed herein may not be increased during the budget year for which it is fixed but may be reduced by the Mayor for each appointive officer, deputy and other employee of the city departments set forth herein or by the City Clerk for employees of the Clerk's office; and WHEREAS, Common Council has previously adopted Ordinance No. 55-2006 to establish salaries for the year 2007 and has amended with Ordinance 28-2007, Ordinance 34-2007 and Ordinance 35-2007 and now amendment is necessary due to the restructuring of the Division of Metropolitan Development to eliminate two part-time positions to add a new full time position entitled Planning Technician. NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana that the following positions be compensated not in excess of the respective sums hereafter set forth during the calendar year 2007, to wit: 2006 2007 2007 2007 Current Annual % Bi-Weekly Hourly Annual Salary Increase Salary Rate Salary Division of Metropolitan Development Executive Director 53,505.13 3.0% 2,119.63 55,110.28 Building Commissioner 38,158.93 3.0% 1,511.68 39,303.70 City Planner 40,100.00 3.0% 1,588.58 41,303.00 Administrative Assistant (2) 26,166.57 3.0% 1,036.60 26,951.57 Inspectors (4) 36,399.62 3.0% 1,441.98 37,491.61 Comm. Dev. Specialist 36,399.62 3.0% 1,441.98 37,491.61 Planning Technician 1,211.54 31,500.00 In addition to the positions set forth above, the Mayor and the City Department Heads may, as needed, hire and compensate part-time or temporary employees as permitted by their respective budgets. Compensation for these positions may range from $5.85 to $15.00 per hour. ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION In addition to the salaries set forth above, all of the employees, excluding members of the Board of Works, the Aviation Board and the Park and Recreation Board, shall be entitled to additional compensation, such as, overtime, compensation time, etc., and those same fringe benefits as set forth within the City of Richmond Personnel Policy or as stated in negotiated contracts.
